The programme aims to develop an understanding of how modern businesses work in a global business environment, and how business functions and processes are supported by different information systems. Students will also acquire technical skills in data and information management technologies, including database systems. The programme consists of four compulsory modules namely, Undergraduate Individual Project, Business Intelligence, User Experience Design, and Strategic Information Systems Management. All modules are assessed on assignment basis aiming to enable students to put into practice some of the concepts and principles underpinning business information systems in order to become a complete and confident IT graduate. Admission to level 6 (year 3) requires an HND (or equivalent qualification) in IT/Computing or equivalent subjects which has 120 credits at level 4 and 120 credits at level 5. Middlesex University has a flexible and personalised approach to admissions and accepts applications from students with a wide range of qualifications and a combination of qualifications. Applications from mature candidates without formal qualifications but with relevant work experience are welcomed, provided they can demonstrate appropriate levels of relevant ability and experience. Students can start studies in our January or September intakes and full-time students can complete the qualification within nine months.
